Sleep Studies
The Sleep Disorders Laboratory at Woodland Heights Medical Center invites you to spend the night in one of our beautifully decorated bedrooms. Furnished with a full size or queen size bed, the bedrooms are designed and decorated for your comfort with overstuffed comforters and throw pillows. Each room has its own private, handicap accessible bathroom. Plus you can enjoy watching your favorite shows on television with cable programming. This pleasant, sleep-inducing atmosphere is removed from the hustle and bustle of the hospital and is close to home.
A doctor's order is required for sleep evaluations. To determine if you have issues resulting from poor sleep patterns, take our
sleep quiz, and discuss the results with your doctor.
Technology is only as good as the people using it. That’s why the staff is a team of friendly, compassionate sleep technicians who are trained to balance your comfort with the need of a quality sleep study. From scheduling your test to completing your paperwork to performing your study, your comfort is our priority.
To arrange for a sleep study, contact Woodland Heights Medical Center central scheduling at (936) 637-8618. Sleep studies are offered six days a week, with patients arriving at 7:30 p.m. Studies can be arranged for daytime hours to accommodate varied work schedules. A physician’s order is required.
Most insurance plans will cover sleep studies and treatment. We can verify coverage with your insurance plan.
Home Sleep Testing Now Available
Woodland Heights Medical Center is now offering a home sleep apnea test for patients. The test provides one-touch operation, longer recording time and good signal indicators, as well as reliable analysis and validated results.
Each patient is given personalized, one-on-one education on how to use the equipment properly along with written instruction and the phone number for the sleep technician to call for questions or if a problem occurs.
Calling All Night Shift Workers!
The Sleep Disorders Laboratory at Woodland Heights Medical Center offers daytime sleep studies for those who work the night shift. To keep you on your regular schedule, we can accommodate night shift employees by doing your sleep studies during the daytime when you are normally sleeping. These are best done on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (as there is minimum noise at the clinic during the weekend), but if you need another day, we are flexible and will work with your schedule.
