We believe that patients play the biggest role in their own recoveries. In order to provide patients with the tools they need, The Orthopedic Center at Woodland Heights offers a comprehensive program that integrates pre-op education, surgical procedures and post-op rehabilitation and wellness for patients undergoing joint replacement surgery.
Our staff includes orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, specially trained nurses, physical and occupational therapists, orthopedic technicians and a joint care coordinator.
The joint care coordinator plays a special role in your experience with us. This person oversees the entire patient experience from the surgeon's office to your post-op rehabilitation. Once you and your physician decide that a hip or knee replacement is the correct way to go, the coordinator will be a personal concierge of sorts, scheduling your pre-op education and planning your discharge from the hospital.
The program begins with education. Before you go in for surgery, you'll attend a pre-operative class with the joint care coordinator, where you'll receive information on how to prepare before surgery and what to expect from your stay with us. You're free to bring a friend of family member who can act as a coach through the entire process. The more support you have, the better!
Special rooms are reserved for those undergoing joint replacements. We believe that a group approach to recovery is important, that's why patients in this setting exercise and eat together, and experience hurdles and victories as a team. It even makes recuperation fun.
