Labor and DeliveryIf you are thinking about having a baby, you probably know that the first nine months of your baby's life can be the most important. Woodland Heights Medical Center offers a variety of classes to help you throughout your pregnancy and prepare you for that special day. We believe nothing is more precious than the gift of motherhood and that nobody delivers maternity services like Woodland Heights Medical Center. Woodland Heights offers a number of special services for mothers-to-be and their families.

Our obstetrical team is exceptional, with an average of 20 years experience in obstetrical nursing. The team has received advanced certification for fetal monitoring from the Association of Women's Health Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses. Our team combines outstanding technical training with a focus on delivering quality care in a comfortable and professional atmosphere.

Labor & Delivery Suites

Your birth experience can come to life in one of our luxurious and spacious birthing suites. Beautifully decorated in cool comforting colors, each room contains elegant wood furnishings and your own private bathroom.

The Highest Comfort Possible

The Highest Comfort PossibleIt is our goal to ensure all guests are as comfortable as possible. In coordination with your physician, our staff will assist you with everything from selecting pain relief methods to choosing to have your baby in the room with you after delivery. The right staff and facilities are here for you. Highly skilled anesthesia team members are available 24 hours a day to provide your prescribed pain relief services. After delivery, your private post-partum room allows you to welcome visitors during the hospital visitation hours. You also may choose to keep your newborn with you or in our secured and fully staffed nursery. Even dads can stay overnight at no extra charge.

We post most photographs of babies born at our hospital within 48 to 72 hours of birth with the parent’s permission.

Additional Education
The arrival of a baby is not always easy to explain to big brother or big sister. That is why Woodland Heights Medical Center offers sibling classes to help everyone adjust to the new baby. We also offer additional education including:

  • Childbirth classes to prepare you for labor and delivery
  • Infant feeding classes to assist you in breast feeding
  • Anesthesia/pain management
  • Newborn overview by Pediatricians
  • Important infant and CPR life saving techniques
  • Pre-registration
  • Baby’s birth certificate form
  • Tour of the obstetrics unit
