When you or a loved one are in the hospital, even something as simple as finding the cafeteria can be overwhelming. Our volunteers provide a critical link in the care of our patients, and their families. Volunteers provide services such as staffing the information desk, delivering flowers and books and accompanying people to various hospital departments.
Through their radiant smiles and compassionate spirit, our volunteers help make the day seem a little brighter for patients, staff and visitors.
The men and women who donate their time and special skills to Woodland Heights Medical Center are a valued resource. We are proud of our volunteers who, as members of our health care team, enrich the lives of our patients, staff and visitors.
We are delighted to offer two Volunteer Programs:
- Senior Volunteers - These volunteers help on a regular basis throughout the year. volunteers can set their own hours and work as much or as little as they want! We have many work opportunities for our senior volunteers.
- Career Volunteers - Our Career Volunteers are college students or professionals interested in a healthcare career. This volunteer's schedule is structured and determined by our clinical staff.

Volunteers are needed to assist in various areas of the hospital. Some jobs require patient contact, while others do not call for patient interaction.
PATIENT CONTACT: May be directly involved with patients / families / visitors (directions throughout facility, update on patient status, waiting areas, greet visitors, etc.)
NON-PATIENT CONTACT: Minimal patient/family/visitor contact (general duties include, filing, stocking, special projects, copying, shredding, assembling, etc.)
